Busy busy busy

Huh, days fly and fly. This week at work was like “damn, is it Friday already?”. I have been busy with getting on track with Adobe Flex and Action Script. Thought I might move onto something more interactive and apply that on Magento. I see some of you have joined snippi.net site. I would like to thank for all contributed code snippets so far. Hope they grew in number.

My apologies for some of the unanswered emails and inquiries. I really had no time to answer all of them.

Happy coding people.

  • Branko, I've played around with Flex and have found these charts to be helpful: http://mariusht.com/blog/2009/04/10/flex-3-acti...

Regarding the Snippie.net site... I love the concept of that site, but before I would devote any time adding content to a site like that, I would want to have some confidence that it would be likely to become one of the major Magento Resource Sites. My reasoning is that I've seen many sites like this get started and then never go anywhere. If I'm going to devote my time to adding content to a site like this, I want to make sure it's not in vain. Currently, there are three main places Magento code content gets dispersed: Magento forums, Individual Blogs, and the Magento Wiki. There needs to some convincing reason for Magento developers to post their content on a site like this. Stackoverflow has done an awesome of harnessing the input of developers and creating a lasting community... I wonder what ideas could be taken from them?

Also, if one were to come across a code snippet on the Magento site, do you know if there would be any legal issues if they were to copy-and-paste that code snippet to snippi.net? Of course, credit would/could be given to the original author, and a link would be added to link back to the original post.

On a completely different note, you may want to adjust the CSS line-height on your comment input textarea. The text is a little crammed right now.
